Lost Vegas release their brand new single " Satellites " on April 30th marking a clear change in direction for the band. OUT NOW
The new track is much heavier than the chilled summer vibes of their Mexico EP and their subsequent follow up single " When the lights go out " released Jan 2021. Sonically it has more in common with the charity single they released with iconic British prisoner Charles Bronson " Only Mad Men Crawl " with guitars, vocals and drums all feeling bigger than on previous outings. The band sound massive and is more in keeping with what you would expect from them live.
" A lot has changed since our debut EP Mexico as we now see the freedoms we all enjoyed as children being taken away, threatened and in danger of being lost forever. It was time to get serious for 5 minutes ” - Chris LV
" If i close my eyes i can visualise an image of how it will be. I used to chase stars now they follow me, wont be what they want me to be " - Satellites
This is without doubt the biggest Vegas song to date and has an authority and confidence we haven't seen before from the band which mirrors the boys defiant stance on the increasing concessions being asked in return for our basic freedoms.
" I honestly don't see us ever getting back to the place where we are truly free to exercise our own free will without consequence for non compliance in a new world ran by big tech and corrupt global elites.
When i listen to the Mexico EP now it seems like another life i was singing about. Summers hanging out, meeting people, relationships, getting fucked up and travelling freely whilst experiencing all the world has to offer and the range of emotions that comes with that.
I compare that to the limited experiences this year due to the insane restrictions and isolation and i think that is now reflected in the music and the writing. How could it not be.
I would love for us all to be able to get back to normal one day but what will normal be and at what cost ?. It's been a humbling experience for me personally having to rely on help from friends, family and fans this last year due to the loss of income and i'm truly grateful to have had that support but after a while it makes you angry and you start to question the forces putting you in the hole " .
" It's great fuel for the fire as there's always been a lot of rock n roll mileage in picking a fight with the biggest bully in the yard. " - Chris LV
